The Rotterdam-based designer Bauke Knottnerus created a series of giant threads to create, knitted or not, interior products embellishing the entrance hall and exhibition space during the Unravel Knitwear in Fashion exhibition at the MoMu Fashion Museum of Antwerp. His Phat Knits series are large-scale knitted design elements, created with oversized needles to weave the huge threads together. This synthesis of art, fashion and furniture gives gigantic and spectacular knitted pieces.
He explains, “These things I make could end up as furniture or as textiles, it’s more like creating media that can be used to construct a coat or a carpet or a curtain.”

Il Rotterdam-based ha come designer Bauke Knottnerus usa una serie di fili giganti per creare, a maglia o non, prodotti per interni che impreziosiscono la sala d'ingresso e lo spazio espositivo durante la mostra di maglieria presso il Museo della Moda MoMu di Anversa. La sua serie Phat Knits sono intrecci di maglieria di grandi dimensioni usati come elementi di design, realizzati con aghi di grandi dimensioni che vanno a tessere gli enormi fili insieme. Questa sintesi di arte, moda e arredamento dà giganteschi e spettacolari pezzi lavorati a maglia.
Egli spiega: "Queste cose che faccio potrebbe finire come mobili o il tessile, è più come la creazione di supporti che possono essere utilizzati per costruire un cappotto o un tappeto o una tenda."
